The Adventures of docentjoyce
North To Alaska
The Inside Passage, from Bellingham Wa. to Skagway. Forests of spruce
and hemlock
grow to water's edge. Massive glaciers spill down between snow capped peaks.
As
you stroll down the quaint streets of Skagway, the history of the gold
rush comes alive.

Preserve - A World Heritage Site

Glacier Bay National Park includes 12 tidewater glaciers that calve into the bay.
At any moment a huge
slab of ice,
some
200 feet high, may break loose from the glacier front and crash into the still
water.
The frigid, water of
Glacier Bay supports a diverse population of birds and mammals. It is not
uncommon
to see a brown bear
ambling along the shore or a regal Bald Eagle sitting atop a huge chunk of ice.
