1870 - Katie and family came by beer train to California.  They eventually settled on a ranch in Clark Valley, San Luis Obispo County, Ca.

Jack Sullivan had gold fever - went to Alaska where he struck it rich.   Katie invested the money in apple orchards and railroad stock.  Jack returned to his family, ranched for a few years, but was bitten by the gold bug again and made another fortune.  He never made it back to his Clark Valley Ranch as he drowned at sea in Nome Alaska.  Jack was the "love" of Katie's life.

Katie remarried a neighbor, Clayton Calloway, who was 10 years her senior. The See Canyon apple ranch continued to prosper.

Katie's eldest daughter, Melissa, is a Harvey girl in Barstow, Ca.  Her youngest daughter, Emelia lives in Morro with her husband Trevor and their daughter, Talulah.
