Morro Bay Winter Bird Festival

    Every January, on the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend, the Morro Bay Chamber of
    Commerce along with the Morro Coast Audubon Society and California State Parks, host
    the Winter Bird Festival.  Full and half day tours take participants to a variety of habitats,
    including deep water pelagic, oak woodland, riparian, wetland and estuary, and the unique
    grassland habitat of the Carrizo Plain. Workshops cover a variety of topics.
    
        Morro Bay and its environs offer beginning and advanced birders the finest winter
        birding in the country.  The 2007 Winter Bird Festival was a birding extravaganza. 
        The weather was clear, cool and perfect for birding.
